Installing PL259 - My way

  1. Measure the length of the connector and remove the black jacket (see picture #3 on how you can measure) - Then tin the copper braid all around the perimeter of the cable.

2. Cut the excess braid

3. Remove the central insulation and ensure there are not leftover solder or braid around the cut surface coming into contact or close the center conductor. Measure again and cut any excess of the center conductor. It should end before the end of the connector's center pin.

Remember to insert the coupling ring of the connector into the cable BEFORE attaching the connector to the cable.

4. Final product. Braid and center pin soldered.
